QA Scheme

IMMPROVE Quality Assurance

As a manufacturer of clinical diagnostic products, Binding Site is aware of the need for a high standard of quality in the laboratory. The IMMPROVE™ Quality Assurance Schemes allow the laboratory to monitor the standard of their own results over time, and compare them to other methods available. Participants in the scheme are located in more than 15 countries worldwide.

Laboratories may join a scheme at any time during the year. Each laboratory is allocated a reference number on registration and all reports are generated against the relevant number in order to preserve confidentiality.

Autoimmune QA Schemes

Binding Site runs two separate quality assurance schemes for autoimmune serology. One scheme is specifically for Anti-Nuclear Antibodies (ANA), and the other is a general autoimmune scheme based upon screening with liver, kidney, stomach tissue substrate slides.

Four times a year these schemes provide a single human serum sample with either:

Samples are run using the laboratory's routine assay prior to reporting results to Binding Site. Following analysis of the results obtained, a generic report is sent to each participating laboratory. The report includes a summary of the different types of assays used and returned results, as well as an expert opinion regarding the pattern(s) detected.
