Description

The Technical Director responsible for, but not limited to, the Geographical area which includes the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Ideal candidate will be located in Houston or Dallas, Texas.
Basic Functions and General Scope:

  • Will assume responsibilities for written and verbal communications and collaborations relevant to scientific/medical issues pertaining to the use of Freelite™.
  • Provides scientific/technical assistance to Sales and Marketing teams and customers for educational efforts including: presentations, e.g., Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, articles for Newsletters, etc., design and execution of studies, and evaluations of company's products.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibility for Scientific Affairs activities pertaining to specified areas in support of company's business goals.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with key external opinion leaders and clinical investigators, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, and other key customers regarding medical advances, collaborative studies, and product related issues.
  • Present data at key scientific meetings/conferences regarding company's products.
  • Participate as internal consultant and ad-hoc member of project/product development teams in providing scientific/technical input to ensure that clinical utility of company's products meets clinical need.
  • Work with Marketing and Research & Development to facilitate the effective transfer of relevant scientific and clinical information required to meet the needs and objectives of each group.
  • Assist VP Marketing in the design, organization, execution and monitoring of pre- and post-market field trials to confirm product performance, maximize product positioning, and meet organization goals and objectives.
  • Assist in marketing activities involving creation, publication or promotion of scientific/medical materials for positioning products.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of scientific/clinical data and literature related to relevant company and competitor products and disease areas, and effectively transfers appropriate clinical/scientific information to key company personnel and external customers for business-related or educational purposes.
  • Participates in presentations regarding Scientific Affairs to the Company.
  • Prepares executive summaries as necessary to address organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility for data analysis; processes and distills information obtained from external collaborative studies/interactions for communications and recommendations to departments (i.e., Sales and Marketing, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs/Clinical Trials)
  • Make frequent presentations to all levels of customers including Physicians, Laboratorians, Research staff and Sales and Marketing personnel.
  • Ensure all presentations are updated as required with new relevant scientific information pertinent to the promotion of Freelite and tailored to the specific audience.
  • Work closely with the Technical Sales Specialists/Managers, Regional Sales Managers and Technical Service team in the field to optimize customer education and growth of sales due to optimal usage of Freelite.

Position Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or M.D. in a relevant scientific discipline or related field with minimum 10 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Excellence in scientific writing and speaking, including preparation and review of pre-clinical and clinical data for abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations, preferably in Immunodiagnostics or closely related disciplines.
  • Data management skills (i.e., basic statistical analyses and data handling, interpretation of scientific data, and development of graphics) is required.
  • Scientific experience in areas involving Hematology and Oncology is a plus.

Personal Characteristics (related to corporate culture):

  • Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in presenting scientific findings from small (10+) to large (500+) groups in the scientific community.
  • Team player able to communicate effectively in a manner consistent with professional scientific etiquette with all levels within the Company and with the Customer base.
  • Strong track record in prioritizing and simultaneously managing multiple projects (activities) in a fast paced environment for timely completion of projects.
  • Ability to achieve goals with minimal to moderate supervision and direction. Strong professional and interpersonal skills to effectively operate on a worldwide basis (i.e., aptitude for working with diverse cultural groups and appreciation of business or social dictums within disparate entities.)

Description

The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is responsible for the promotion of The Binding Site products in the designated territory. Responsibilities include promotion of existing and future focus product lines, both capital equipment and reagents, to new and existing customers while maintaining current customer base. Ideal candidate will live in Southern Wisconsin.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain current customers and increase sales of The Binding Site products to reference labs, hospital labs, physicians office labs, and research and industry labs in South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota (minus Mayo Clinic) and Illinois (area codes 847, 224 and 312 only).
  • To focus on the development of repeat business in the clinical laboratory marketplace and to increase market share of key product groups which are currently: Serum protein assays, Automation and Freelite™.
  • To follow up on leads generated by advertising, mail shots, trade shows, etc. in a timely fashion.
  • Provide required territory information to the Educational Support Administrators to generate leads for designated territory and for regional Technical Directors.
  • To promote all relevant Binding Site product groups to both current customers and new prospects by visiting all appropriate laboratories within each facility.
  • To keep up-to-date records in the Customer Management Database (SalesNexus) to ensure accurate communication of the activities and needs of the territory. Enter all necessary marketing information to assist marketing in targeting mail shots to potential customers.
  • To attend trade shows when necessary; for example the AACC meeting.
  • To provide prospects and customers with professional sales letters and written price quotes to assist in the promotion of all products.
  • To provide technical support and customer service in conjunction with the technical service department to ensure all customer complaints are resolved to both customer and company satisfaction.
  • To maintain personal product knowledge and to update yourself on new product information, technical updates, company policies, discount schemes, etc. as they become available.
  • To make effective and productive use of the time by using both face to face and telephone contact in performing the sales process.
  • Work with regional Technical Director to achieve territory and national goals for Freelite.
  • Implement co-marketing programs with facilities that have Outreach programs in the territory to grow the Freelite business.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Medical Technology or Scientific discipline (biological or chemistry based science) required, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 8 - 10 years experience in laboratory sales within designated territory.
  • 5 years experience in capital equipment sales
  • Experience in SPIN Selling a plus
  • Proven track record of outstanding sales performance within the last 3 years

Compensation and Benefits:
